EE Sim holder

Image
Someone chucked this away; it’s a SIM card holder. A SIM card in the most simplistic terms is a miniature circuit board that fits into your mobile phone allowing you to connect with the outside world and even the internet if you have a device that supports this, known as a smart phone.

Empty drug packet

Another one of those empty packets of drugs again.

Feather

This buzzards feather was found in the city; sometimes I spot them circling above looking for small mammals to eat.

Love heart key ring

Looking more closely you can see the word ‘love’.

Happy three year anniversary Lesley Loot!

Another year on and it’s interesting to re-read over what I had written this time last year. Admittedly I have not yet begun writing my book about finds which makes me think I’ll have to start this soon. However I have a brand new project linked to this one called Finders which requires some experimentation so watch this space! These days I’m walking a little further and coming across a lot more exciting things, yet more or less the same sort of stuff such as painted stones, toys and plenty of keyrings. Of late I have found hardly much at all, it’s all about wanting to come across something. One of the highlights is finding a clay pipe which is rather poignant after coming across a lot more of these vapes. These historic pipes are natural as clay comes straight from the wholesome earth but these vapes are really bad for the environment as they’re made of plastic and none recyclable, that is, I’ve never found one that is. Perhaps it’s also a sign of the times too as I rarel

Windy day stone

Image
Another hand painted stone, known locally as Kindness Rocks as they are painted by nice people intentionally to help cheer up them and others. These can be found at the foot of building's, on walls mainly but always found outdoors and can be easily seen by passers by.

Woolly scarf

This beautiful hand knitted neck scarf can be fastened with a button and looks not dissimilar to one of those ruffs people wore during the reign of Elizabeth I in the 16 th Century.

Mask

Image
Some people still wear these masks used in the pandemic if they’re vulnerable to caching Covid still. Covid has never completed strayed from our daily lives and is often still referred to in the news. There's a time before and a time after the virus and it’s still possible to catch it, even now. Of course in the near future it’s very probable that something like this won’t happen again. Let’s hope it doesn’t end up with another lockdown.

Street sticker of protest

Image
Today another war is raging on th is earth . Th i s tim e it’s in the middle east. It’s an age old war that’s never properly stopped; it’ s basically about keeping Palestine separate f ro m Israel . There has been a lot of demonstrations taking place nationally which is why this sticker was created; it’s protesting against Israel suppressing Palestine. Palestine used to be known as the Holy Land and it was here that two religions were born: Judaism and Christianity causing a division within the area which has been governed by many nations including Rome and Egypt and most recently the Britain empire. Since 1948 this region was separated out into three area states : Israel , Ga z a and the West bank causing a strain on culture, commerce, and politics.
