Jonie and friends

Image
Jonie’s dropped her home-made key ring. I think it belongs to her as either side are two more names but much smaller.

Jayden’s done well!

Image
This child’s done well but why did the school have to pay 59p postage to let them know this; unless they were ill of course. They can’t value this information as it was left in a car park.

First steps to learning about money

Image
A child must have dropped this as it was found right outside the school gates. This is such a great street to be living on as there are three schools here.

Stencil graffiti

Image
Not strictly the pick up find but this one caught my attention. A superb use of stencil graffiti.

Pink Grapefruit

Image
Another vape using nice and refreshing colours; attractive to children and this isn’t good stuff!

Have You Missed Me?

Image
I don’t know what this is about but often ribbons are tied round gate posts as a memoriam to loved ones that have made a difference due to their illness by raising awareness through campaigns like that of Steven Sutton who gained an MBE through his campaign in recognition of teenage cancer sufferers. Yellow ribbons are used in his case.

Festival wrist band

Image
Wrist bands have become popular with festival goers for some time now as they replace the old tickets on entry system. They’re designed to be worn around the wrist because it is a lot less difficult to loose these as opposed to tickets as these are often kept in purses or pockets. Fabric ones on the other hand last longer than a day or two and normally issued at longer lasting events such as Glastonbury. This one’s simply your bog standard one. However I do have one from a couple of years ago that was fabric but as we’ve hit austerity organisers are finding ways to cut costs now.

old sent bottel

Image
Workman have unearthed this sent bottle while preparing the ground for a gate. At first I wasn’t quite sure what type of bottle it is but the hole is a dead give away, as the nozzle, since missing, would screw on while the inner tube that enters the hole would suck up the sent from the inner chamber has since filled with earth and weeds.

Fly Tipping

Image
This chair is a common item of furniture that can be seen outside many homes. Often it comes with an attached notice such as I’m free and looking for a new home or please take me etc. It’s essentially illegal known as fly tipping. However some people welcome this as it’s free and many people now haven’t got as much money as before the pandemic; this year has seen fuel and food price rises, as well as strikes up and down the country such as rail and even within the NHS. Alternatively there are websites such as Gumtree that allow people to sell or giveaway their unwanted items. This one is being dismissed by the owner either because they’ve tried one of these sites already with no luck or their too lazy so resort to dumping it instead.

Duct tape

Image
Timco are makers of all purpose strong tape for builders. This was left on a railing; most likely it had fallen out of a workman's tool kit.

Hand sanitizer

Image
This item was very popular during the pandemic but still used today like face masks; you still see the odd masked person who either continues due to health reasons or still feels that as Covid is still a threat.

Babies rubber toy

Image
This is a bath toy I suspect and the child liked having it with them even when not having a bath.

Doc McStuffins

Image
Little plastic Dottie McStuffins is a Disney character. Find out more here: https://disney.fandom.com/wiki/Doc_McStuffins

Shopping List

Image
fairly healthy single person’s shopping list find. There’s a good varied mix of healthy and medium healthy options. Not too sure about the fruit content; is that porridge with fresh fruit added ingredient or separate fruit added later? There're fresh integrants as well as ready prepared items such as the soup and cheese sauce. Not bad. I suspect that this belongs to a lady of middle age living on her own.

Make a baseball from paper

Image
This was found in a cafe after a couple of teenage girls had been sitting eating their MacDonalds takeaway in a Costa cafe, would you believe. They’d left behind this paper slot together baseball; it’s rather a neat idea but doesn’t come from McDonald’s and I’ve not been able to locate where it may have come from.
