two lady Jehovah witnesses

Image
Found two lady Jehovah witnesses spreading the message of the bible. Incidentally  they are not the two ladies featured on their calling card; the front image is promotional purposes only and typical of this on the surfaces all smiles and plastic actions. They gave me this card and later a beautifully hand written letter slotted through the door informing us where we can find their help and support along with quotations  from the bible. Amazing to have been hand written as this would have taken sometime if it was popped through all the other doors where no one was at home or answering the door to them. Lots of dedication; true believers.

10p

Image
People still dropping money. This ones worth 10p and minted in 2014. At present all coins and notes feature the late queen Elizabeth II; which makes me wander when king Charles will make his debut within our currency.

Lindt Golden Bunny

Image
Today was bin collection day and this item had blown away from it’s rubbish container. Interestingly inside was information about having your bins cleaned professionally. Personally I find this such a waste of money as bins are kept outside and will always be dirty places; some people have money to burn even during these times! While back of the Lindt box suggests burying the chocolate eggs for children to find.

88.

Just found another one of these disposable vape bottles. They each come in different flavours; this ones strawberry and costs £12.99 for three on Amazon; they’re an expensive addiction. However a lot less so than cigarettes; 88% cheaper and safer without the revolting images and warning signs on their products; so what’s not to like about vaping?

Lost Mary Vape Bottle

Image
Lost Mary is a disposable vape. It replaces cigarettes as it only contains 2% worth of nicotine; however what other carcinogen’s can be found within these products that are potentially harmful compared to what can be found within regular cigarettes?

B4 6JU

Image
Messages and notes are still hand written as this find reveals. From the information it looks to me Liz has supplied her email and a place to meet. B4 6JU is a Birmingham postcode which leads you to the Bull; a pub where you can eat and stay over. https://www.thebullbirmingham.co.uk/ On looking further I located the details and I’m not sure if this exists at all. One site mentioned demolition. This would be dreadful as the building looks in good repair. On further inspection the Bull is up and running again now! During the pandemic, as observed on Google maps (2020) it’s closed as people weren’t allowed go out owing to the spread of Corona virus.

Happy two year anniversary Lesley's Loot!

It’s now been two years this month since starting Lesley’s Loot and there’s been plenty of interesting finds along the way; from being useful like a jacket to wear or entertaining like finding a hand written note left by an angry person. When I begun this blog I never imagined this amount stuff. In a way it’s become a social as well as an historical document. Although I don’t walk that far these days it’s quite simply amazing what’s on my front door step; things that are dropped by accident or simply lost like the odd toy or even put there deliberately for someone else to find and keep! If I think it is of any value I’ll take it, record it then pop it back where I found it, unless it has a forwarding address. In April 2021 we were just coming out of lockdown and looking back now this is highlighted in just a few finds like masks and even a Covid vaccination certificate. To date I've even found a Ukrainian appeal lapel badge to help raise funds for the war taking place ov

Georgia

Image
Georgia has lost her home-made wooden pendent. It’s especially personalised with her date of birth too; bourn in 2014 makes her eight years old soon to be nine. This was found outside a school just by the roadside; It’s fairly  common to find things below the curb line as if they’ve got caught on something as stepping into the car and off they pop.

Bandai

Image
Collectable figurine from the famous Japanese Nintendo game Pokémon. Details are stamped on the back of the character but has been made in China.

Percy Pig

Image
Fruit flavoured gums and what's not to like about this little piggy as he’s made from real fruit and natural flavourings.

Bulldog

Image
This drug packet was also seen in London too. Bulldog image relates to gang crime.

Kinder surprise egg shell

Image
Yet another empty Kinder egg shell containing no ‘surprise’ inside. Last found one of these July 2021; refer to earlier post to find out more….
