edible find

Image
Found this in street which was perhaps a discarded food item from kids lunch box? I ate this for breakfast; perfectly edible as the fruit was unspoilt. If the fruit hadn’t had it’s protective layer of skin such as a kiwi fruit then I would not have picked it up; having made that mistake many years ago when coming across an apple; it tasted like it had been found in a street too - yuk!

Plastic unicorn

Image
Unicorns, as documented previously on this blog, have been very popular. This ones been discarded perhaps because it’s an outer shell from what was once a sweet container.

Pink Squish Mallows

Image
Yet another one of these horrible squidgy toys that resemble the marshmallow sweet meat.

White plastic rose

Image
I found this on a park beach. Interestingly I decided to look up the meaning behind the white rose. Amongst purity, youthfulness, and innocence it also also symbolises loyalty. Moments after coming across this find I was about to embark on a coarse of action that would test my loyalty of friendship.

Woody

Image
It’s Woody from Toy Story; the toy that actually gets lost in the first film. Sadly this one’s been through the wars unlike the film version and he’s lost a leg too; do you think Andy, the child that owns’ the real Woody or any other kid would want him back now? What a shame; what should I do with him? So he’s the lost, unwanted toy. Another possible storyline for the Toy Story makers Pixar the disabled, unwanted toy.

Helpforall.uk

This wrist band is related to a mental health charity. Wrist bands promoting charitable causes were very popular from the 1990’s onwards so much so they become a fashion accessory. There are still different versions of the idea from medical wristbands, for those people with specific medical issues in case of emergency’s to festival versions to act as passes instead of the old paper ticket that could get trampled on during wet weather or simply lost.

Brolly sleeve

Image
Umbrellas are kept in good condition if wrapped up in their protective sleeve s . However once you’re outside and it’s pelting it down all you car e about is opening up that shealed of protection, forgetting to bother about that little sleeve as it pops, so left discarded and ending up a little litter bug on rainy days. Worse still is on windy days and finding umbrellas stuck in rubbish bins having opened themselves inside out and coming instantly useless.

Bums and tits in a phone box

Image
This flyer was found in a pay phone box; bringing back memories of my foraging days in London. Phone boxes were utilised by prostitutes where they’d place their post card sized call calling cards in a variety of illustrated or photographed pornographic poses along with their sexy pseudonym’s and phone details. You don’t come across phone boxes like you did in the past due to the ubiquity of mobile phones so the few you do come across exist for emergency calls or used by people having no access to their phones. NOTE: this is just part of the leaflet found!!

Bear broach

Little sparkly clip on for girls bag.

Another Christmas tree decoration

Image
This was found within the city centre discarded outside the theatre. It’s sad to find this as there’s nothing wrong with it. I’ve now taken it home with me as I don’t mind odd tree decoration unlike some people who have them all the same design. My tree decorations reveal a history of found ones or ones having been used since childhood. Even the rather sorry looking bear will play some part towards seasonal celebratory frippery at least once every few years.
