So
far I have found 2 of these since April so you can clearly see
commonly found because they can easily become detached from bags and
bunches of keys.
Recently I came across this fridge magnet belong to a couples personal horde which was being taken away as rubbish which I recorded back in 2021. There were many items including love letters, photos and tickets. A box of mementoes and sadly the couple must have broken up during Covid. All I have left is their fridge magnet a memory of a visit to Lanzarote. Many couples broke up during Covid as they could not bare being locked up together amongst other problems. I did not feel it was right to keep their memories as it was too personal and sad.
‘ L aughing G as’ canisters found in city Found two of these metal bottle shaped canisters not far from the city. They’re laughing gas or hippy crack as they contain nitrous oxide. If inhaled could be fatal. They’re meant to be used by the medical profession to numb the pain of patients. Artists Gilbert and George’s exhibition in London 2014 bought these to my attention as they feature a lot round where they live in Whitechapel, East London. To find out more about the drug go to: https://www.talktofrank.com/drug/nitrous-oxide#how-it-feels However after all that perhaps they could simply be a co2 cartridge to inflate a bike tyre as they look much the same.
It’s now been two years this month since starting Lesley’s Loot and there’s been plenty of interesting finds along the way; from being useful like a jacket to wear or entertaining like finding a hand written note left by an angry person. When I begun this blog I never imagined this amount stuff. In a way it’s become a social as well as an historical document. Although I don’t walk that far these days it’s quite simply amazing what’s on my front door step; things that are dropped by accident or simply lost like the odd toy or even put there deliberately for someone else to find and keep! If I think it is of any value I’ll take it, record it then pop it back where I found it, unless it has a forwarding address. In April 2021 we were just coming out of lockdown and looking back now this is highlighted in just a few finds like masks and even a Covid vaccination certificate. To date I've even found a Ukrainian appeal lapel badge to help raise funds for the war taking place ov
