I love Adelaide


Look who’s been to Australia for their summer holidays. This kid, who proudly presents this in the form of a cute little clip on koala bear souvenir. Alternatively they may well have given this to a friend and on a more cynical note may well put their friendship in jeopardy. This maybe because their friend hasn’t been able to arrange a holiday as extravagant as going abroad, either resorting to a cheap camp site somewhere in the UK or has spent their entire holidays at home or worse still at summer school as their parents/guardians go out to work and so never venturing further than the school playground.

So just imagine for a minute some scenario around this one. I have to bitch at this point as girls are notorious for this sort of thing...

Oh god is that’s all you did all summer – Amelia you’re so dull. Oh Suzie, (another girl here who’s been on holiday like her) did you, OMG that’s just soooo cool. Look at my pics – yea that’s me on the roller-coaster at Disneyland Paris blah, blah, blah... Resentment builds up and new friendships sort at the start of another school year; hence the disposal of this find.

This fury bunny is very dirty and obviously seen better days and was found slung in the road. It’s been dirty for sometime too but you never know some child might be missing this ugly doll so I popped it back on the school gates in a plastic bag as it’s been raining a lot recently. On the label I find it’s come from the American toy range Tiny Tukkins made by the Beverley Hills Teddy Bear company. To find more visit www.PLUSH.com I visited the website and found the bunny and thought it rather sad as she has a baby brother and she’s known as the big sister of the two, belonging to the Bunnikins family. Lets hope her baby brother hasn’t come to a sorry ending too and he’s tucked up nice and warm inside someone's home and is still loved by it owner. Lanzarote

  Recently I came across this fridge magnet belong to a couples personal horde which was being taken away as rubbish which I recorded back in 2021. There were many items including love letters, photos and tickets. A box of mementoes and sadly the couple must have broken up during Covid. All I have left is their fridge magnet a memory of a visit to Lanzarote. Many couples broke up during Covid as they could not bare being locked up together amongst other problems. I did not feel it was right to keep their memories as it was too personal and sad.

Happy three year anniversary Lesley Loot!

  Another year on and it’s interesting to re-read over what I had written this time last year. Admittedly I have not yet begun writing my book about finds which makes me think I’ll have to start this soon. However I have a brand new project linked to this one called Finders which requires some experimentation so watch this space! These days I’m walking a little further and coming across a lot more exciting things, yet more or less the same sort of stuff such as painted stones, toys and plenty of keyrings. Of late I have found hardly much at all, it’s all about wanting to come across something. One of the highlights is finding a clay pipe which is rather poignant after coming across a lot more of these vapes. These historic pipes are natural as clay comes straight from the wholesome earth but these vapes are really bad for the environment as they’re made of plastic and none recyclable, that is, I’ve never found one that is.
