Chinese find

Image
This is a Chinese key ring and probably came all the way from Hong Kong. The city was once owned by the UK but was returned back to communist China in 1997 after a 100 year rule. Of late there have been m ass protests that have erupted for not being able to criticiz e Chinese ruling powers over their city; dissidents are either silenced or punished. Before 1997 Hong Kong had become a very powerful city. When I was growing up many of our toys were stamped with ‘made in Hong Kong’ as plastic was a very profitable business during the 1950’s to the 1980’s. Luckily people living there before the change over are considered British nationals so have the right to live in the UK today. Many have taken this opportunity and so today you see a lot more Chinese people out and about. So this find is part of the story of the people of Hong Kong now having escaped the clutches of China’ s rule.

CPR face mask

Image
This face mask is used to protect a person from germs while they resuscitat e someone else who is having a cardiac arrest, that is having a heart attack. As they perform CPR ( cardiopulmonary resuscitation ) they have to compress the chest in order to pump back blood into the heart while oxygen is being brought back into the brain.

Fish Tank treasure

Image
Not strictly a find to add here but nevertheless I’ve decided to include it as this item was found in an outside shed in our garden. It’s a deep-sea diver that I remember begging my mum for while inside a pet shop at the time. This would have been a fish tank decoration but instead it became a bath toy.

McDonald's balloon holder

Image
There is no hiding the fact that balloons pollute the environment even if the holder is made of cardboard – MacDonalds! Also why would you need to have a holder – all you need is string – it’s just a gimmick or some ploy to make you think that they’re an environmentally friendly company? Happy for them and sad for the environment.

Vape bottle collection

Image
Some of these vape bottles can be very attractive and I’m sure in years to come they may well become collectors items; here’s are some I have been collecting.

The General Election

Image
This stickers been making it’s rounds in this city since the start of the election campaign. Did this sticker help towards winning a labour majority here by lampooning our now late conservative MP after 26 years? Who knows but Labours won the General Election today!

Cricket ball?

Image
Well, I thought this was a cricket ball but it’s actually a rugby ball?! Anyway all I can say is that it was found here in this garden was probably thrown over by the neighbours; they often hold very noisy night parties; then there’s their dog Holly so perhaps it was thrown over during a boisterous game with this golden labrador.
