Lesley's Loot

This was found in our local precinct. Not a bad find as it is very decorative just right to celebrate the festive season with.     

Outside the front door one morning this week were two milk bottles. We don’t order milk so I contacted a couple of neighbours wandering if they’d not received their milk order. Like us they don’t buy their milk from the milk man (now known as milkies for obvious gender specific reasons). Therefore this lead me down the route of contacting the local dairies. Eventually I came across the company who'd left them. They kindly offered the milk free of charge then we left the bottles outside for collection; meanwhile thanking them online and making them a felt hanging to pop on their milk floats front view mirror.  

This is one of the traditional Poppy Appeal poppies hat are made by retired people from the armed forces.  

I couldn’t imagine coming across one of these! Its actually got some of the painted road lines too. It reminds me of an exhibition I visited in London many years ago featuring a family of collaborative artists, the Boyle’s. They are best known for their “Earth Studies” where they chose a bit of earth via map anywhere on the planet and recreated via a 3D cast technique.  

Poppy It’s inevitable I’d find a poppy around Remembrance Day as they so easily come loose from peoples garments. The Poppy Appeal versions are the worst as either you find them whole because the pin supplied lacks sufficient grip or you’d come across disembodied segments strewn about the ground, although I never no why as they seem to have been securely fastened in the first place. Once in my younger more curious days I thought I’d try to prize one apart to find out how it was made; sadly looking back now at how I innocently hadn’t realised how disrespectful I was being towards those poor dead men who died for our country.  

The morning after Halloween I was lucky enough to gain a treat without having to trawl the streets locating welcoming neighbours displaying their Halloween wears such as pumpkins, spider webs and more which is a sign to say they’re available to give you a trick or treat. Not that they would be best pleased seeing an adult waiting on their door step instead of a kid dressed for the occasion begging for a treat. Its not the first time I’ve not been lucky enough to not have to work hard for this seasonl gift. Some years ago two chocolate Hop a Long bunnies had been left outside a house waiting for some lucky kid. They must have cost a lot – perhaps a child had accidentality left them their after one of the neighbours played a trick on them instead and ran away terrified leaving them behind – well they didn’t go to waste!  

As I mentioned before I often come across empty Kinder Surprise egg shells where the toy has been removed; this one’s contents remains fully intact and with a tiny bit of chocolate left behind, the tell tail sign of what the toy was housed in as, I’m assuming like with Kinder S urprise . If you’re thinking this is all that remains from once coated this toy’s outer shell a K inder S urprise casing then think again as you can see from the photograph I have included the instructions on putting the toy together which doesn’t use the Kinder logo plus I could not locate online. So have a go finding it; perhaps you’ve eaten one of these and own one of its toys.  

  This is an unusual colour for a biro, shame its broken however I use Bic pens; the advantage is that they can be easily prized apart so I can replace the ink stick with this one as there is plenty sky blue left.

This fell off one of those jewellery accessories for teenage and younger girls but not forgetting the transgender types that like all this glitzy stuff.   

Sitting at a picnic table there were two labels that were once attached to toys. Later I found out the toys could be bought at the near by garden centre’s shop. On one of the nature walks I managed to prize off a hand made arty sticker pasted to a bin.
